9 The Lord of the Rings

10 Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

With dialogue in Mandarin Chinese, the film—a multinational venture—was a surprise success around the world. Hailed as one of the most influential martial arts films of all time, the movie’s distinct style and innovative special effects helped it become one of the highest-grossing films worldwide in 2000.
